Terms of use

SwedPop is a national research infrastructure with individual-level population data, life-course, cross-sectional and panel data, covering large populations and a variety of social and geographical settings over long time periods. The infrastructure is supported by a consortium with five Swedish universities and organisations and by the Swedish Research Council. 

This is an online tool developed by SwedPop as a resource for the research community as well as others. It is hosted by CEDAR, Umeå University, Sweden.

The user of the data acknowledges that the original collector of the data bears no responsibility for use of the data or for interpretations or inferences based upon such use. 

The user of the data agrees: 

  • Not to distribute the data, or parts of the data, to third parties. 
  • Not to use the data for commercial purposes. 
  • Not to use the data, or parts of the data, for purposes other than those specified when ordering the data. 

CITATION REQUIREMENT 

The user of the data agrees to refer to SwedPop as data supplier in any publication, report, conference paper or other forms of material making use of data from SwedPop, and to provide title and full citation where data is used.

Publications and research reports based on SwedPop data must be cited appropriately. The citation should include:

In scientific publications, SwedPop must also be mentioned in Acknowledgements according to the following example:  
”We acknowledge SwedPop for provisioning of facilities and data and we would like to thank x, y and z for assistance. SwedPop receives funding through the Swedish Research Council under the grant no 2017-00666.”
